Where is the HOREC children’s home located?
In Mutalia Area, Kangundo Constituency, Machakos County, about 60 km east of Nairobi. The two-acre site has a residential home, Dhamini School and St. Hannah Clinic.
How many children does HOREC care for?
Over 40 children aged 2 to 18, girls and boys from across Kenya. Most have been orphaned or made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS.

Does HOREC only accept HIV/AIDS orphans?
We specialise in children infected or affected by HIV/AIDS, especially those excluded from government programmes. We also take other vulnerable children facing neglect, abuse or family breakdown.
Can I visit or volunteer at HOREC?
Yes. Email info@horeckenya.org to arrange a volunteer visit or donor tour. All visits follow our child safeguarding protocols.
How does HOREC use donations?
Donations pay for food, school fees, medical care, safe shelter and staff salaries. We also invest in income projects like the Apiary.

Christine Wambui, a Kenyan social entrepreneur who began by caring for people living with HIV/AIDS in Nairobi and then opened her home to their orphaned children.
